Crown dancers appear at the night ceremony during this Apache girl's puberty ceremony. Due to the importance of this ceremony, I cannot allow this photograph to appear on certain items, such as T-shirts and coasters. I hope you can understand my concern that the photograph not be used in a disrespectful manner.
Crown Dancers are mountain spirits who taught the Apache People the proper way to live. They appear during the girl's puberty ceremony. They should be given great respect. I thought long and hard before making this photograph available. However, it is such a powerful image that I wanted to share it with people.
